RICHARDSON, Texas—Dougherty Sprague Environmental, Inc. (dse), a small, full service environmental consulting firm located in Richardson, Texas. The company was founded in 1998 by Cathy W. Dougherty and Charles W. Sprague and has grown to 9 full-time employees with one part-time employee. In addition to the 8(a) designation, dse is also certified as a HUB by the State of Texas; a DBE by the NCTRCA, SCTRCA, and TXDOT; and an SDB by the SBA. dse has also partnered with Weston Solutions on several projects and is a protégé of Weston in the DoD (AFCEE) Mentor/Protégé program. Environmental projects that dse has participated in include:
- A comprehensive site assessment of St. Paul Island, Pribilof Islands, Alaska, for NOAA
- The Columbia shuttle recovery effort, East Texas, for EPA/NASA
- Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in Texas, Ohio, Tennessee, and Mississippi for FDIC
- Periodic groundwater monitoring and sampling at the NAS/JRB-Fort Worth, Texas
- Staffing for the START Program for EPA’s Region 6
