DALLAS, TX—Dougherty Sprague Environmental was recognized by Weston Solutions, Inc., with the 2008 SAME Robert E. Flowers Small Business Award.

Susan T. Litherland, P.E., Southern Division Manager of Weston Soluctions, Inc., had the following to say about Dougherty Sprague Environmental:

Since 2002, DSEI continues to be a successful subcontractor to Weston Solutions, Inc. (WESTON) on the U.S. EPA Region 6 START contracts, providing environmental investigation and remediation services. To-date DSEI has provided more than $12.33M of outstanding services in support of START mission. A particular example is the historic Hurricane Katrina and Rita natural disaster along the Louisiana Gulf Coast. Beginning in September 2005, DSEI provided numerous technical personnel to support response and recovery efforts at multiple locations along the disaster path. Cathy Dougherty and her team exhibited considerable flexibility and were able to mobilize numerous staff following very short notice. Their team persevered under difficult circumstances particularly during the initial weeks of the disaster due to the severe impact of basic infrastructure along the Gulf Coast. The basic necessities (lodging, food, water, fuel, etc.) were nearly non-existent for the first few weeks. Cathy and the team persevered and positioned staff across the entire organizational structure to support WESTON and our strategic client, EPA, during an unprecedented disaster. In this one event alone, and the outstanding leadership and support I know they have provided to the Dallas SAME Post, DSEI has demonstrated the small business community is a true national strength and deserving of the Robert E. Flowers SB Award for 2008.
